Memorial Day Weekend

      During this Memorial Day Weekend I did lots of fun activities with my family. First of all on Friday we went to Redondo Beach with my grandma because she was leaving the next day. We walked around and saw all the boats and oceans. Then on Saturday we said bye to our grandma and grandpa because they were leaving back to Mexico. All of our family members came to visit before they left. I got to see all my uncles, aunts, and cousins. The next day, Sunday, we got up bright and early to go to Knotts Berry Farm Soak City. First we went to go eat breakfast and then we entered. We got in the Tide Pool where there were waves and then to the Lazy River. After that we decided to leave because it was really packed and since we have the season pass we could go whenever we want. Once we got home we took a shower and got some rest. Then on Monday, memorial day there was no school so we decided to go to the mall. It was really full since it was a holiday with lots of specials in stores. We didn't buy anything since all the lines were really long so we just walked around. Then we bought some hamburgers and hotdogs to make. We invited our family and neighbors to eat as well. Not only that but I had to finish up my 4 to 6 page essay with 10 paragraphs for my English class on a book, across a hundred mountains we just finished reading.

 

“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forget.”

Alan Paton

      This quote means that whenever something wrong is done or something bad, nothing is ever healed completely until that one special word is said. I forgive you. That is all you need to say in order to recover from something bad that has happened. If you don't say that then you could live in anger and depression all you life. No one wanted to be that sad all their life so might as well so something good for everyone. One simple word can change everyone's feelings, emotions, and it could even affects someone life in a positive way. They will always remember the day they felt happy once more by just one simple word. “Forgive” is very important just like this quote because it shows everyone that you should forgive in order to recover. For example like this one video we watched in this class. It is where a guy was drunk driving and killed two girls. He was going to jail for 22 years until one special lady (one of the mother's daughter that died) said the magic word, forgive. She said a speech how they should cut the years in half and sent multiple letters saying why. When she did that she felt a sort of relief and happiness and now they are going to different high school explaining to never drunk drive and why people should forgive. Always remember when something bad has happened you should always forgive.

“Dare to do right.”

Rex D. Pinegar

      This quote means that if you ever dare someone to do something it should always be to choose the right. Son next time you are playing truth or dare with your friends choose the right and make them do something good. You should never peer pressure someone to do something there not suppose to. Instead choose the right and play truth or dare in a nice amicable matter where no one gets hurt. It is the funnest and the safest way to play. Even if you are not playing that game you should always choose the right in the decisions you are making. This is really important because it shows us how to be safe and smart while being fun at the same time. I totally agree with Rex D. Pinegar because he speaks the truth about this topic. For example you invite your friends over to your house and play. You guys decide to play truth or dare and someone starts of with something bad. You know that's not right so you have to stand up and do something about it. You tell them to choose the right and dare to do right because you know whatever they said is not right. Even if it might seem cool to do something rebellious it really isn't because you can hurt people in many ways, physically or emotionally. So always remember dare to do right.

“Dare to stand alone”

Thomas S. Monson

      This quote means that you should stand alone when other people you might be hanging out with are choosing the wrong. When you see people that are not doing the right thing you should always mine your own business and stand alone to avoid the consequences. If you are alone don't worry you are independent and strong because you're not the one that doing all of those bad things. This is really important because it shows us how we can be b strong and a CTR person by stepping back and being alone. I agree with Thomas S. Monson because He is such a great influence to people. He encourages others to choose the right which everyone should be doing. For example you and your friends are playing truth or dare and they dare you to do something. It may be gross or uncomfortable to you, so you should dare yourself to stand alone. You leave them because they are not appropriate and not choosing the right. They may think you are over reacting but it is worth it because you don't have to suffer the consequences. Always remember to choose the right and stand alone.

Physical Therapist

Duties and responsibilities:

      Physical therapist help people recover from injuries, illnesses, and surgeries. They work with patients to regain movement and manage pain. They are fully licensed to practice therapy and  treatments on patients to help their momentum. They have the ability to reduce, pain, reduce function, and prevent disabilities. Not only that but they intend to strengthen muscles or stretch them as well as relieve pain. They provide care for people in variety types of environments such as hospitals, private practices, school, sports, etc. State license is required in each state in order to perform any kind of physical therapy.

Salary: $84,020

Education:

      In order to become a physical therapist you need to earn a graduate degree from a program in physical therapy. Those programs take about three years to complete. To gain admission you need to earn a bachelor's degree in any types of science course. They usually have anatomy, biomechanics, pathology, etc.

Demand for this profession:

      The demand for this profession is very high this time. It is expected to grow 34 percent according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This will be from the years of 2014 to 2024.

Reflection:

      I would not like to be a physical therapist because I don't really have interest in that type of career. I would prefer something a little different from his. It does seem exciting but just not the right thing for me to do in the future.

Dan Dierdorf

      This quote means that if you have good goals written down in somewhere special for example your life planning goals journal and if you keep accomplishing them then everything will be amazing. If you are always writing down a victory next to them then you will begin to notice that everything you have done right will soon fall into place and good things will start happening to you. If you chose to do the right thing then you will for sure succeed in life and you will be happy and everyone around you will be so proud of you. Maybe you can even encourage and inspire them to make some goals for themselves and completing them. For example you want to get an A on your math test the next day. The only way you can achieve that is to study so you do that all day until you know it. Once you take that test it will be a piece of cake and guess what! You aced it because you worked so hard and studied all day. You got a good grade and now your report card will fall into line with all the straight A’s you have. Always remember to complete your goals and you will succeed.

Actor

Duties and responsibilities:

      Once an actor gets the role they need to memorize and study their script. Sometimes they change and some parts require singing, dancing, or performing stunts. In order to bring the character to life they change their voice, or facial expressions. Not only that but they also were many different costumes and props which they must learn how to use appropriately. Long hours of working are sometimes requires as well as travel. They also have to deal with the bad weather, harsh lights, heavy costumes, makeup, and little time to get ready. They can work in movies, television shows, theater, commercials, parks, etc.

Salary: $37.47 per hour

Education:

      To be an actor there is no education needed. Although there are many theater actors that hold a bachelor's degree in their field. They can also have formal training. Most actors do refine their skills through university classes or programs they have.  

Demand for this profession:

      The demand for this profession is not that good. It will be expected to rise about 10% which is something but not a lot. This can be in the years of 2014 to 2024.

Reflection:

      In my opinion I would like to be an actor. I don't think i’ll be very good at it but it will be nice to give it a try and do something different. I think it is very interesting to act out all the different characters and watch them come to life. I would've never thought about this type of career but it seems fun to do in the future.
