People will think you are more mature for being obedient this is how they know to trust you or not. This is why you should always listen and be good. But if you choose not to be obedient you will loose more privilege. Then people think that you are untrustworthy and disrespectful. This will lead to many negative things in your life. So if you don't want things like that to happen to you then you have to learn to be obedient. This is why obedience is always the key to everything.
