Class Evaluation

        There are many things that I like about this class, first for all we get to practice our typing skill. Each day we will get better and faster at typing. Also because we get to get better at our writing and typing skills. One other thing I like about this class is that we get to hear new inspirational quotes when we are here.

      One thing that I do not like about this class is that some of the other classes don't get the same projects as we do and that's not fair. For example we got assigned a CTR project and none of his other digital comperturing classes got it.

      My recommendations to improve this class is to give us more time to write and finish our assignments in class. For example when we are writing our student success statements I don’t have enough time to finish what I am going to write. Then I feel like I am falling behind in class have have to finish outside of class.

       A highlight for me in this class is when we got to ask him a lot of questions. I believe that brought him and the whole class a lot close together because we really got to know a lot about him.

      Yes, I really did my best in this class because I always made sure I had at least 10 sentences in my SSS’s. I made sure it had no grammar errors and everything was spelled correctly in each thing we did. Also because I always used to challenge myself in the typing tutor to get 100% in every single one.

      Yes, I am reading and writing in my Life Planning Goals journal each and every day for five minutes. I make sure I prevail those goals and make more. I also make sure I type a “yes” on my blog account every day once I finish writing in my journal.

      I am committed to being a CTR person because I feel that it makes a big impact on your life whether you do bad or good. This is why I always remember to do the right every day to succeed. It is very important to learn about and I’m glad I did learn about it because it has really had a huge impact on my life to getting straight A’s in school to also having good manners.       

Honesty

      In this video was a class that was taking a test and a girl asked this other person for the answer. Then she realized that telling her the answer was the wrong thing to do so she said “no.” Then there was also some medical students in a room taking a test and the professor left. Then all of a sudden they started pulling out cheat sheets from their sleeves and pockets. Not until one brave person stood up and said how cheating was bad. He was also going to tell on anyone that was cheating because he had a long journey to take the test and he didn't want anyone cheating. He thought it wasn't fair. These are just some great examples about being honest but there are definitely more out there that you can relate to more. You should always be honest because then if you dont thing will end up going bad.

      This quote means that if you tell one tiny little lie it just keeps going to another and another and you can't stop. One you start you can never stop because then you get the habit of lying and that's not good. You have to remember to always choose the right and never lie, you should always tell the truth. For example, your teacher gave you homework during summer break, 2 essays and reading. You have almost 3 weeks to finish that assignment but you become a sloth and decide to not do it. Then you go back to school and you tell your teacher that your dog ate it instead of telling her that you didn't do it at all. So what you did there is tell a lie and once you said that you can never stop you just keep going and going with all the lies. You can't even catch up with how many lies you've told. This is why it is always better to tell the truth and be honest towards people because it is never right to lie. You have to be a CTR person 24/7 no matter what and that includes telling the truth.

The Sting of the Scorpion

      One day there was a family having an idyllic vacation in the desert, everything was going well until a little boy decided to choose the wrong. He want to go on  a walk to go explore but he was forgetting one important thing. His parents always told him to put his shoes on before he goes out anywhere. That one day he decided to become a sloth and not listen to his parents. Then he put on his flip-flops thinking it was a source of protection for his feet when it wasn't. So he when out walking and all of a sudden he felt a little sting on his foot, he moved away and saw it was the scorpion who stung him. He felt pain all throughout his leg and screamed very boisterous for help. His parents quickly went running and went in the car to the nearest hospital which was two hours away. Luckily the doctors stopped the pain but just because the little boy showed impertinence to his parents they had to run there who vacation. This is why you always listen to your parents and choose the right because if you don't then it's going to come back to bite you. Even if you don't feel like doing it, you have to because you know that's the right thing to do.

      This quote means that no matter in what situation you are in you always have to remember to always do right. These 3 little words can mean something very powerful to someone. It could inspire them to do better. It could inspire them to make it difference in their life. It could also be a complete turning point in their life and very will change them for the better in just 3 simple words, always do right.This is very important because if you don't do right then many bad things can happen and nobody wants that. This is why you have to pay attention to what the good people are tell you to do. You should follow in their footsteps and do right just like other people did. Now hopefully you will do the same in always doing right. For example you are in school and walking in the hallway and you see a piece of trash on the floor. If you choose to always do the right then you will pick it up and throw it to the nearest trash can you see. If you choose not to follow this quote and you choose the wrong then life may not turn out as great as you think. If you do not follow this things can go very bad. So this is why you have to always do right.

      This quote means that you would rather be better off by yourself than to be around with bad people that are going to influence you to do bad things. If you know there is going to be bad untrustworthy people in a party then might as well not go at all. Even though you might think it's cool to hang around with the bad kids in reality it actually not. You have to remember to always choose the right in situations like these. You might not even know that you will have more fun by yourself than hanging out with the wrong group of people. For example your friend invites you to a party at her house and you go. Once you arrive you see everyone smoking and drinking right away you have to leave because it is not right. Even though you might think it is fun you are better off alone than this bad influences. You don't need other people to make you happy because you have yourself and that's all you need. Being reclusive doesn't mean anything bad it just means you are choosing the right to say by yourself away from all the bad. Just remember to always choose the right even in tough situations.

 

World War 2

      World War 2 began on September 1, 1993 and went on till September 2, 1945. The countries that fought included Germany, Italy, and Japan. The other side included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, China, and the United States Of America. World War 2 did not occur just in one location but in many. For example they fought in Russia, Europe, Africa, Asia, Eurasia and more. At that time not only World War 2 was happening but many other events.

      There are many ways we can honor and show respect for WW2 veterans. First of all we can start by saying a simple “thank you” because even a little word can mean so much to a person. You could also help donate at the USO and volunteer at a local USO Chapter. If you know a family member that passed away during WW2 then stop by at their grave and give them a flower/ flag. You can also display a yellow ribbon on your clothes, car, or around a tree. However there are many more things you can do to honor and show respect for our veterans because they have done so much for us. There are some people that don't appreciate this as much as they're supposed to but we have to encourage them that they work so hard to get us at where we are now and we have to appreciate every single moment of it.     

Challenges Teens Face Today

      It can be very hard when you become a teenager because everything from that point on is going to change either for the better or worse. Teenagers deal with very conundrum situations. It might be very rough at times and you have to deal with it but not for other people. Some teens might not know how to react to certain problems and don't know how to handle things. They don't want anyones help and that's when they start experiencing things. For example, they might start smoking or drinking because a loved family member passed away. They can start being bullied and get peer pressured to do certain things. They might also have difficulty with their body image and not like how they look and they don't eat or vomited their food. Then they become very ill. A major challenge I am dealing with today is school and stress. It can be very hard maintaining a certain grade for a long time. Then there are tests, essays, presentations, and everything can be very stressful at once. Some people can't deal with the work and decide not to do it and just renounce. Today I am dealing with it by asking for help either if it's from my teacher, friend, or family member that can help me with school work. You can also become a Ctr person which can help you make good choices throughout times. If you don't know what a CTR person is, basically it means choose the right. This motto can help you overcome challenges you might face because you will know what good decisions to make. Instead of choosing drinking and smoking as a solution you can choose the right and ask for help. I can help teenagers to overcome their challenges by telling them some good advice. Also by helping them out and talking it through on what to do.

Reflection:

   The greatest needs that teens have today is getting help and attention. Some of their parents don't even know there suffering in school. Teenagers need all the help necessary to get through their toughest times in life. If they don't get any kind of help or attention they might just renounce and start smoking and drinking. This is why they need help so they can start succeeding in life and make better choices.

      This quote means that having a healthy and fit body is the key and basis to being intelligent. Not only do you have to be smart and a good person but you have to be healthy and active all the time. For example if you are healthy then that will get you the motivation to start studying and pay attention to your surroundings. But for example if you are always a sloth and you just relax everyday that will not give you the motivation you need to become an intelligent person in life. Being health and active plays a big role on your life. If you are healthy you exercise, no drugs, no drinking, and you're a good person. If you choose not to be healthy and be lazy all day then your might as well rotund, don't get enough sleep, unmotivated, lazy, and you don't want to do anything but just sit there and do nothing. If you are healthy then there is a higher possibility that you are smarter and more intelligent because you are always active and going, You never give up and go for the best in life.

Health Sciences Librarian

Duties and responsibilities:

A health medical librarian is a specialist who provides assistance in medical documents. They reference materials to conduct research on medical documents. Also have access to medical information through books, journals, tapes, and more. They mostly have training in sciences, health, or medicine. Health Sciences Librarian could work in many different environments and places such as medical school libraries, government agencies and more.  

Salary: $56,880 for all

Education:

To be a Health Sciences Librarian you must graduate high school and go to classes such as English, math, typing, and science. Then a four year bachelor's degree including courses in science and computing. A master's degree in library science. Some of the courses might include bio-med and science literature.

Demand for this profession:

The demand for this profession is really low. It is said to grow 2 percent from the years of 2014-2024.

Reflection:

In my opinion I would not like to a health sciences librarian because it doesn't seen really interesting to me. I just don't think this will be a kind of job I would be doing in the future. This is mostly because I don't really have interest in it.  

 

“Kindness is the essence of greatness”

      This quote means that the kindness you have in your heart and mind is all that you need to become great in life. Just that little bit of kindness in you is the essence of what is going to make you a great person one day. Kindness is very important because as you see here is id the essence of greatness. For example, if you are nice and polite to people and you show kindness to them then that's all you need you need for greatness. But for example if you show bad behavior and manners to other people then they won't treat you with respect and you won't earn greatness in your life. This is why you always have to do your best because kindness is the essence of greatness.

Thanksgiving Week

      During Thanksgiving week I had a wonderful time with my family members. We went to my grandmas house and we all gathered together to have a Thanksgiving meal as one big happy family. Some of them brought food such as ham, mashed potatoes, corn, and much more that I am really thankful to have. I had a very fun time talking and having a conversation with everyone. Besides that during the whole week of vacation we did do other fun activities. For example, my friend and I when to the home walk on Saturday to support the homeless. Then the next day on Sunday we went to Santa Monica beach to do a beach clean up and help the environment. We haven't really noticed how contaminated the beach really was with plastic and trash. The following days me and my family didn't have really anything to do so I started on my three essays for English. Luckily I got to finish all the essays before school started because then it would of been really overwhelming and I would be stressing out.  I also started reading a book that we had to finish for that class as well. The book was called “Night” and it was pretty interesting since it was based on a true story. Besides having a good time on Thanksgiving,  on Friday my family and I of course had to go Black Friday shopping so we went to the mall. We didn't go too crazy or overboard on buying unnecessary items. I just bought a couple of sweater I've been needing for this type of season. Overall I am really thankful I got to have this kind of experience that other people might have not been able to do.

      This quote means that whatever type of manners you have is the type of person you are going to become. If you have really nice good manners and you always behave you are going to be a well behaved person. But if your manners are very rude and disrespectful then you with be a bad uneducated person. This is way you always choose the right and have good manners to other people and yourself. As I said whatever manners you have it the type of person you are going to become. The manners you have will mold you into the person that you are going to be and act like. For example if you are having dinner with your family and you eat with your mouth open and you make a mess that is not correct table manners. Those manner that you have done will make you into the person that you will be. But if you are quiet and behave like you should at the table with your family then you are surely to become a good person just like your manners. So if you want to become a good person always have good manner and that will lead your way.

      This quote means that if you are going to say something that is not right them don't say it at all. If you are going to so something that is not right then don't do it either. Anything that you know is not right them don't do it because them many bad things can come your way. If something is not true don't say it because then it can hurt someone's feeling. Also if something is not right don't do it because them you know you are going to have consequences. For example your friends invited you to do eat somewhere but your parents say no. You have the idea of sneaking out but you don't do it because you know its is not right. That is the right thing to do because imagine if you sneaked out and your parents found out you would of been in really big trouble and that is not god. Another example is that a teacher found out that you were cheating. You really felt bad but you don't want to tell the truth. Finally you chose the right and decided to tell your teacher that you did cheat. You did the right thing instead of choosing the wrong and lying then blaming it on some innocent that wasn't even cheating. You always have to choose the right even in tough situations because that at the end of the day you know you did something good for either yourself or someone else. Remember, if it is not right don't do it, if it is not true don't say it.

                                                

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

      Thanksgiving day is celebrated on November 24. It originated as a harvest festival. On this day you express how thankful you are and that you appreciate everything life has to offer you. Many people invite their family members and friends to eat. They usually make food such as turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, etc. There are also many activities this day has to offer. For example people in the community team up to make food and give it to the homeless people or people that can't afford to make a thanksgiving feast with their family/friends. There can also be local festivals in your community that you can attend to. They usually have fun contest and prizes like a gift basket and turkeys for the winners so they can make a family meal on Thanksgiving Day. This is a great way for people that can't afford stuff to participate in activities such as these.

History:

      Thanksgiving day has been celebrated nationally since 1789 after proclaimed by George Washington. It has also been celebrated as a federal holiday since 1863. The Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations. For more than two centuries it has been celebrated by individual colonies and states.

    This quote means that if you either win or lose at anything the most important thing is to do what's right, fair, and honorable. That is all that matters. Don't be sad that you lost a basketball game because at the end of the day you know that you did the right thing instead of cheating and winning. Then you will feel bad and horrible, so just remember to always be fair and honorable. For example you are going to play basketball with your friends and you step out, all of your friends saw it but you don't want to admit it because then your team will lose. Finally say the truth and everyone is happy and fine. Even though your team lost because of you, you know that you did the right thing because you didn't lie to your friends. You chose to be fair and honorable the most important thing is that you chose the right. It doesn't matter what type of game you lost or won at it just matters of you know you did the right thing.

                                                    

Veterans Day

Veterans Day:

      Veterans day is an anniversary of the day that World War 1 ended.

When is it?:

      Veterans day is on November 11.

What is the purpose?:

      The purpose of Veterans day is to honor all the U.S veterans and victims of all kind of war.

Why do we show honor?:

      It is important to show honor because you are showing that you appreciate all of those that have died in wars.

Ways to show honor/respect:

• Donate
• Show up to your local events
• Write to those people
• Visit hospitals
• Go outdoors with a veteran that you know

                                               

Special Interest:

      A special interest pertaining to veterans day is that you could do all these amazing activities that have to do with honoring veterans. For example some I didn’t name is showing how thankful you are which kind of pertains with writing to someone. But there are many different ways you could express that, not only in writing. You could also fly a flag (correctly). That means to put out a flag to show to other people that you honor this day.

Reflection:  

      In my opinion I think veterans day is a wonderful day to celebrate. It is the day you could celebrate all of those who have died in honor of our great country. They are the one that sacrificed there life for us in order to make this a better place. We are so thankful to have people like that to stand up for what right and fight for us. This is why it is so important to many people. Maybe someone in your family might of fought in a war. Well today is finally the day that everyone could celebrate the sacrifice he/she did. Once again I think that veterans day is an amazing day to honor those who have gone to war.
