Astronaut

Duties and responsibilities:
Astronauts are people who are trained to command, pilot or be part of a space crew. All though there are different kinds of astronauts for different type of jobs. They are responsible for traveling in space crafts. They also conduct research on subjects like biology, mathematics, etc. It is required for them to perform hard task in order to stay in shape. They also have to ensure the safety of the spacecraft.    

Salary: $65,150 per year

Education:
In order to become an astronaut is you need to have at least a bachelor's degree according to NASA. It could either be in biological science, physical science, or mathematics. Many of them have a masters degree or even a Ph. D in their field. They must also pass with a demanding physical. For example there's 20/20 vision, blood pressure, and height. There are also interview in the selecting process.   

Demand for this profession:
According to NASA in the class of 2017 there will be more than 18,300 and only eight- four people would be accepted.


Reflection:
I would like to be an astronaut but according to NASA only eight to four people will be accepted. Even though the possibilities are endless it might be impossible to get in. It's always worth a try to start new things so might as well.
